Whoever invented "Cop Dots" is my hero. Have you heard about this new tool? It's being used by more and more police departments around the country, and Coral Springs Police are the latest agency to see dots before their eyes.
Here's how it works: You go to Loews or copdot.com, and buy a "Cop Dot" device that looks like a pen for $29.99. The pen dispenses tiny adhesive chips that look like glitter, but are barely detectable to the naked eye. You simply apply a chip to any valuable you want to identify as your own. You then register your vital information on the company's website, and BAM, if a thief should get hold of anything you've marked, particpating police departments can scan the item and decode your "Cop Dot". Not only do you get your stuff back, it helps police discount shady characters who say hot merchandise "just fell off a truck"
You may be thinking, wouldn't it be nice to prevent the item from beiong stolen in the first place? Yup. But at least the inventors include warning stickers you can post at your home, office or car warning potential thieves that "Cop Dots" are in use.
