An Entire School District in Pennsylvania Goes Into Lockdown . . . Because of the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" Theme Song?
On Friday, an employee at a doctor's office in Ambridge, Pennsylvania was calling a high school student from Ambridge High School, to confirm his appointment. And the student used the "Fresh Prince" theme song as his voicemail message.
But when the employee heard the lyric, quote, "shootin' some b-ball outside of the school," she MISHEARD it as "shooting some PEOPLE outside of the school." So she panicked and called 911.
Then the ENTIRE SCHOOL DISTRICT got flip-turned upside-down . . . and every single school went into lockdown.
The police arrested the student, and detained him for three hours while they searched his house and locker. When they finally sorted things out, they let him go.
The doctor's office says their employee is, quote, "embarrassed about the whole thing."
A Seven-Year-Old is Suspended for Biting His Pop Tart Into a Gun Shape:
At Park Elementary School in Baltimore, Maryland, seven-year-old Josh Welch was suspended for biting his Pop Tart into a gun shape.
Apparently, Josh was eating his Pop Tart at school, and he says, quote, "I was trying . . . to turn it into a mountain. But it didn't look like a mountain, really. It turned out to be a gun, kind of."
His teacher saw the Pop Tart, sent Josh to the principal . . . and he was suspended for two days under the school's zero-tolerance policy.
The school sent a letter home with students saying he was suspended because he, quote, "used food to make an inappropriate gesture."
A Man Fakes His Kidnapping . . . Poorly . . . to Avoid an Argument With His Girlfriend:
Around 1:10 A.M. on Thursday, a person in Brooklyn, New York found 36-year-old Rahmell Pettway on the street, with his hands, legs, and mouth DUCT TAPED.
The cops came and Rahmell told them he'd been kidnapped two weeks ago by two men in a light blue minivan.
They QUICKLY figured out he was lying. The first clue? The duct tape ROLL was still dangling from one of his wrists. Apparently when he duct taped himself up, he forgot that with his hands bound, he couldn't tear off the roll.
He ended up admitting he'd made the whole thing up.
Apparently, two weeks ago, he left home for two weeks . . . although it's not clear where he ACTUALLY went. But he didn't want to have to face his girlfriend after going AWOL like that, so he made up the fake kidnapping.
The police didn't say whether or not he'd been arrested for false reporting, but we'd guess he was. Rahmell has 14 prior arrests, mostly for assault, robbery, and marijuana.
