UPDATE 9/23 7:30AM
(Nairobi, Kenya) -- There's more chaos in the Kenyan capital today as Somali gunmen remain holed up in an upscale Nairobi mall.
Smoke has been billowing from the Westgate shopping mall following gunfire and explosions that rang out earlier this morning.
The siege started on Saturday when Islamists from the al-Shabaab terror group stormed the mall.
They reportedly allowed Muslims to leave, holding the rest hostage and killing close to 70 of them.
About 175 people have been injured, including several Americans.
The Kenyan army is on the scene, but the attackers have threatened to kill everyone if the military makes a move.

A suspected terrorist attack leaves up to 30 dead at a mall in Nairobi, Kenya.
At least 100 are said to be injured.
A Somali rebel group had vowed to attack Kenya in retaliation against its fight against Islamic fighters there.
A raging gun battle inside an upscale mall in Nairobi Kenya this morning evidently started by a group of Somali terrorists affliated with Al-Queda.
Reports from Sky news have at least 5 gunmen blasting their way into the mall evidently wearing body armor, carrying AK-47 assault rifles and hand grenades
Reports says two of the gunmen are down and as many as 20 others have been killed, there are unconfirmed reports of at least 50+ injured or wounded.
